Activision Blizzard writer destroys WoW statue in stay protest

Netease, the publishing firm which distributes Activision Blizzard video games together with World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2, and Diablo 3 in China has destroyed the WoW Orc statue exterior its workplaces, in protest towards a proposed extension of its present partnership deal. Beforehand, Activision Blizzard introduced that its partnership with Netease would finish on January 23, rendering video games together with World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, and Heroes of the Storm inaccessible in China from January 24. Footage captured by TikTok channel ChaijingNDS, and initially reported by WoWHead, reveals individuals smashing the statue aside with hammers and being handed drinks with Netease branding. The drinks seem like a variation of inexperienced tea, apparently regarding a phrase related to a slur in China to explain a younger, manipulative lady.

Responding to Netease’s rejection, Blizzard China issued an announcement saying “it’s a pity that NetEase just isn’t keen to increase companies of our recreation for one more six months on the premise of current phrases as we search for a brand new accomplice.”

Elsewhere, the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is dealing with opposition from the US Federal Commerce Fee, whereas managers at Proletariat, a co-development studio on World of Warcraft, have refused to voluntarily recognise a brand new worker union.
